Northwest Neighborhood Middle Schools NOW was formed in 2009 by parents who were in search of an academically strong neighborhood middle school option in Northwest Denver that was socioeconomically and culturally diverse. Currently many NOW members have children attending Skinner with great success.

NOW members worked with the leaders of the already strong Skinner Middle School to win a $500,000 grant that strengthened honors options, Spanish (beginning and advanced) and instrumental music programs. Dedicated leaders and talented staff paired with the strong commitment to academic growth and the full range of sports and academic offerings have made Skinner a school of choice in Northwest Denver.

Skinner Open House: This Thursday 6-7:30 p.m.

Come visit the school that's everyone in the neighborhood has been talking about!

This Thursday from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Skinner will host an Open House for all students and families interested in a well rounded middle school experience in Northwest Denver.

Students and staff will lead tours and discuss everything the school has to offer, including:

DOUBLE-DIGIT gains in 2011 CSAP scores
Excellent school leadership
Environment and structure that supports academic success
Honors course options for all grades
Customized learning plans
Peer support in learning families
Art, guitar, band, orchestra, drama and P.E.
Three state-of-the-art computer labs
Spanish, advanced and beginning
Friday enrichment electives
Free after-school academics and social clubs
Sports teams, including boys' baseball, basketball, soccer...girls softball, volleyball, basketball and co-ed cross country, flag football and tackle football

There are a lot great things happening at Skinner...if you have a 4th or 5th grader, come check it out. This is the neighborhood middle school you've always wanted!
